Game Mechanics and Scoring

Five labelled vertices have ten possible connecting edges. Each independent fair bit switches one edge on or off, choosing one of 1, 024 equally likely graphs. The raw reward is the minimum number of colours needed to colour adjacent vertices differently, minus one. A graph with no edges has reward zero.

Select reward power 1, 2 or 3. The gross multiplier is 0.96 times the raw reward raised to that power, divided by that power’s exact mean across all 1, 024 graphs. Each mode therefore has 96% expected gross return. One stake of 10, 20, 50 or 100 is debited when a draw starts.

Wallet and Balance Rules

The demo wallet starts with an initial balance of 1000 virtual coins. If the idle balance falls below 10, you can manually restore it to exactly 1000. This is a manual set, not an automatic replenishment or deposit.

  • Fractional Carry: Fractional payout changes persist through settlement, manual refill, and reload.
  • Unfinished Rounds: If you reload the page during an active draw, the round ends without refund or resume. Progress is not saved.
  • Controls: Stake, mode, and refill buttons are locked during active play.

Controls and Game Flow

Play is linear: select a stake (10, 20, 50, 100), choose a mode (power 1, 2, or 3), and initiate the draw. The game completes the full board draw; there is no early cash-out or automatic queue. Sound remains available during play. The interface does not support account-level blocking, timers, or self-exclusion tools.

Privacy and Data Storage

Font files load from this website. The Statinside visitor counter sends requests to an external service. This does not establish anonymity.

Audience and Responsibility

This guide targets an 18+ audience as a policy, not a universal legal age or implemented age gate. Choose voluntary breaks and personal time or virtual-stake limits, and find suitable local qualified help if needed. The demo does not clinically train behaviour or make losses safe.

Frequently asked questions

How is the reward calculated in Chromatic Stair?

The reward is the chromatic number minus one of a labelled K 5 graph drawn by ten independent fair edge bits. The raw reward is raised to power 1, 2, or 3 and normalized by its exact mean over all equally likely complete draws.

What happens if I reload the page during a game?

An unfinished round ends without refund or resume. The balance persists, but the specific round's outcome is not saved. You must start a new draw.

How do I refill my balance?

If your idle balance is below 10, you can manually restore it to exactly 1000. This is a manual action, not an automatic refill or external deposit.
